This particular square uses an image of a Yellow-Throated Vireo by John James Audubon for the main image and the border. Audubon was an American ornithologist, naturalist, and painter known for his studies documenting American birds as well as the stunning illustrations that depicted the birds in their natural habitats. His greatest work was a book entitled The Birds of America (1827–1839) and this is still considered one of the finest ornithological works ever completed. We worked closely with the University Of Pittsburgh to gain access to one of the original copies of this book and have then chosen three separate birds to use on our range of Audubon inspire pocket squares.
This square is a very subtle addition to a jacket pocket, adding a softer colour blend without being too bold. The flower detailing on the main bird image and border make for a nice soft alternative to the plain white when looking for a wedding pocket square in particular. We personally prefer it in a two or three point fold so as to utilise the cornering detail and colours.
