The jacket is Super 120's wool flannel in light grey, a 310g twill with four kissing buttons, fully lined in silk and made to order. The tie is madder silk in a clear teal, with navy medallions centred in rust, screen-printed in Macclesfield and handmade in England. The square reproduces Jacques-Louis David's Napoleon Crossing the Alps, 1801, the version held at the Belvedere in Vienna, printed in crimson in Macclesfield.
Light grey is the tailoring the tie was made for, and it gives both colours an even ground. The rust at the centre of each medallion picks up the crimson of the square, so red does the joining and the teal is free to stand out.
