The tie is knitted in Italy from wool and cashmere. The knit absorbs light and gives no shine, so midnight blue shows as depth, and the pointed tip, uncommon on a knit, gives the blade a sharp finish where most knits end square.
The square is plain white Irish linen, hand rolled. Linen has a dry brightness that looks freshly pressed under evening light, and at 33cm it fills a breast pocket without crowding it.
