The firm of Currier & Ives created over 7,500 titles and created over a million lithographs in their 73 year run as a print shop. This 1892 print, in their popular bird’s eye view style, includes prominent landmarks of the day.
Even, before the invention of the elevator, the combination of geography and geology led Chicago to build the impressive skyline it is known for today, the rail terminal and stockyards created hazy summer days that gave the entire city a yellow-gold tone like a perennial sunrise. Those tones are expressed in the antique overhead drawing of the Second City on this silk pocket square and complemented by the green border on its hand-rolled edges. Drop it into the pockets of your warmer toned jackets for a sun-splashed accent.
