Three years later it won a gold medal at the Paris Salon, and the French, Delacroix among them, made rather more fuss of it than the English had.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe square crops in on the cart itself, empty and halfway across the ford on its way to the haymakers in the far meadow, with a dog watching from the bank and an angler half hidden in the reeds.
