Plan of London and its Environs, 1848, © Museum of London
This 'Plan of London and its Environs' was produced for a firm founded in 1832 who specialised in menswear. As with our current ranges, the original had hand stitched hems and the caption reads "Plan of London and its Environs published as the Act directs by Welsh and Margetson, London" with limits of London past marked. The scale is 9 cm to 1 mile. We’ve worked with the Museum of London to clean up the image and recreate it onto a crisp white background of 100% silk.
This square works brilliantly with almost any jacket, being plain enough to work against a pattern while adding a subtle hint of intrigue depending on which part of the map is shown. We particularly like showing off the map in a winged puff or showing more of the cornering with a 1 or 2 point fold.
If you are not completely happy with your purchase for any reason, we will provide a full refund or exchange.
