London Sights Around St. Paul’s, 1860-70, © Museum of London
This pocket square is based on a handkerchief within the collection of the Museum of London that features a board game entitled "London Sights all around St. Paul's". The game works in a spiral format and was originally a plate print in red dye created somewhere between 1860-1870. The spiral format used for the game on this handkerchief was a popular device for games and jigsaw puzzles from 1790 onwards and was not always printed with the rules down the sides. Usually these games aimed to test the participants' knowledge of history and would have been originally printed on cotton whereas we’ve recreated it on 100% silk.
This square is a great talking point and the white base makes it a very flexible pattern that has universal appeal. We particularly like it in a 1 point or puff fold.
If you are not completely happy with your purchase for any reason, we will provide a full refund or exchange.
