The Flat Fold (The Presidential Fold)

Pocket Square Folds / View All Folds

The Flat Fold or Presidential Fold is a classic pocket square fold that works for all occasions, giving a small horizontal contrast to your jacket. It tends to be a more formal fold for when you're in a more conservative environment.

This fold is often used with a plain white silk or cotton pocket square, but we like to add a little variety with a touch of colour.

The Flat Fold Step 1

Step 1.

Take your pocket square and lay it out flat in front of you. Then fold approximately a third of the square on top of itself.

The Flat Fold Step 7

Step 7.

The square is now ready to be placed in your pocket. At this point, you can choose to either display either the folded edge or the hand-rolled side.

Step 8

Step 9

Step 8 - Alternative.

Alternatively, if you wish to add a little more interest to your fold, or your pocket square has a border you wish to exhibit, then display the hand-rolled edges of the square.
